Drawing the Times
Doel is burning
Jeroen Janssen
In 2013 Jeroen Janssen published his book 'Doel', about a Flemish ghost town that is threatened with complete demolition due to the planned enlargement of the port of Antwerp. After he completed his book Abadaringi about his experiences as an art teacher in Rwanda before the genocide, he went back to Doel. He is going there every now and then to document the resilience of the inhabitants. Those drawings will be collected in a book. This is the second of the new series of reportages on Drawing the Times.
